Real Talk Christian Podcast
Marc Hyde and Chris Fuller are real Christians having real conversations on faith, culture, and society. Real Talk Christian Podcast started as a local church teaching ministry to provide biblical answers to the world that Christians find themselves in, but the podcast quickly grew to global ministry. Here, you’ll find conversations around theological topics, practical living, and stories from Christians who are striving to have real conversations around both everyday and difficult conversations. Each episode is designed to feel like you’re sitting down with two of your favorite friends. Generally, the first 15-20 minutes of each show is full of laughs, banter, and fun conversations before jumping into the episode’s content. This is designed to help you feel connected with the hosts, bring joy to your life, and provide great answers to your questions.

076: The Rapture of the Church
Thursday Jan 28, 2021
Thursday Jan 28, 2021
"When Jesus comes back, will you go with him or will be left behind?" This is a phrase that if you've been in church for a while, you may have heard a pastor a church person say. But, is this the correct question to ask regarding the rapture? In a Christian world that is obsessed with the rapture and end times, do you know what to believe? Better yet, do you know what the Bible says?
In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller talk about the rapture of the church. In this conversation, they dig through the Bible and look at church history to see how we, as Christians, should view the rapture of the church and how we as Christians should approach this subject.

075: Becoming a Peacemaker
Thursday Jan 21, 2021
Thursday Jan 21, 2021
In the sermon on the mount, Jesus said, "blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God." These words have been repeated throughout the centuries in many different contexts, but the truth still stands—peacemakers will be blessed by God. Have you ever wondered that it means to actually be a peacemaker, though?
In this week's episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller talk about what it means to be a peacemaker, and how being a peacemaker is one of the Christians main calling. To help you think through the topic, they go through the Scriptures to bring up other passages of Scripture that show Christians how to be peacemakers and provide seven descriptions of a true peacemaker.

074: How to Raise Christian Kids with Ryan Coatney of Cross Formed Kids
Thursday Jan 14, 2021
Thursday Jan 14, 2021
In an ever-changing world, how do we raise our kids to love Jesus and pursue him? This is a question that has been asked to us here at RTC a handful of times, and we knew that we needed to bring in the big guns for this conversation!
In this week's episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller sit down with Ryan Coatney of Cross Formed Kids. Cross Formed Kids is a biblically-based catechism method of learning and has grown in popularity with Christian parents all over America. In this episode, we ask Ryan many questions, including these: Why are so many kids and teens walking away from Christianity? What are ways that we can talk with our kids about Christianity in a way that they love Jesus and not just do the Christian thing? How do we have conversations around salvation and baptism at such a young age? Do you think there should be a certain age for salvation and baptism? Is teaching kids to follow Jesus a form of child abuse?
If you are a parent or hope to one day be a parent, you'll enjoy this conversation. If you have any questions regarding Cross Formed Kids, you can find a link to their website in EVERY single show note that we've produced for RTC. We believe in this style of educating your children, and we believe that you'll love this conversation.

Christians are often accused of only caring about babies when they are in the womb but not caring about both mothers and babies after babies are born, especially during political seasons when being Pro-Life becomes a talking point in the political sphere. But here's a question: is this actually true? Marc and Fuller decided to sit down with Andrew Wood to talk about this claim.
Andrew Wood is the executive director of Knoxville Hope Resource Center (@knoxvillehope). Hope Resource Center comes alongside expecting parents who don't know where else to turn when they find out they are pregnant by providing care for mothers and babies both before the baby's birth and long after the birth. Hope walks with both men and women to help them establish a life as a parent, and they do all of this because they want to show God's love to those who need it.
If you've ever heard the statement that Christians only care about babies in the womb or wondered if there's something that Christians can do to help scared, pregnant mothers, you'll definitely want to listen in on this conversation.

072: Three New Year Goals Every Christian Should Have
Thursday Dec 31, 2020
Thursday Dec 31, 2020
It's time to leave 2020 and move onto 2021!
With a new year comes new goals, dreams, and expectations. Most people, including Christians, set "new year resolutions" to help them have the best year ever. Sadly, most of the resolutions fail within the first couple weeks. Rather than make resolutions, we think you should make goals! Why? Goals are things that you can attain for, rather than resolutions that are decisions to do or not do.
In this episode, Marc and Fuller talk about three goals that every Christian should have as they walk into 2021.

070: Do Churches Need Pastors?
Thursday Dec 17, 2020
Thursday Dec 17, 2020
The role of the pastor has changed throughout the centuries – from spiritual guide to ruler of countries. Every church has a pastor (some have multiple), but the role of the pastor is rarely defined. Let alone defined, many don't ask the question, "is the role of the pastor even required if every Christians followed the Bible?"
In this episode of Real Talk Christian Podcast, Marc and Fuller talk about the roles that the pastorate has evolved into in the 21st century, if those roles are Biblical, and if pastors are even needed in the church.

069: I Know God Loves Me, but Does God Like Me?
Thursday Dec 10, 2020
Thursday Dec 10, 2020
We have heard from some Christians that they know God loves them, but based on their actions and thoughts, they feel like God doesn’t like them. . . like He’s unhappy with them. Like a parent who says to their child, “I love you, but I just don’t like you at the moment.” Does God ever get to the point where he says, “I love you, but I just don’t like you at the moment."
In this week's episode of Real Talk Christian Podcast, Marc and Fuller discuss this line of thinking and try to get to the source of the fear, including topics such as what the Bible says about God's love grace, why we feel like we aren't close to God, and can we lose certain blessings if we don't follow God the ways that we should. No stone gets unturned in the pursuit to answer this question.

068: Christians & Alcohol: is it a sin?
Thursday Dec 03, 2020
Thursday Dec 03, 2020
The CDC says, “Excessive alcohol use is responsible for more than 95,000 deaths in the United States each year, or 261 deaths per day. These deaths shorten the lives of those who die by an average of almost 29 years, for a total of 2.8 million years of potential life lost. It is a leading cause of preventable death in the United States, and cost the nation $249 billion in 2010."
If this is true, why do so many Christians believe that it is not only acceptable but also enjoyable to drink alcohol?
In this episode of RTC, Marc and Fuller open up the Bible to answer the questions like "Is drinking alcohol is sin?" "Is it wise to drink alcohol?" and "How should we handle ourselves if we think it's a sin but others think it's okay?"
