"Sister Wives. If you have ever watched the TLC channel, you have probably seen this show as you were browsing around trying to find something to watch. This show follows a family from the LDS church who are fundamentalists of their faith, who also practice polygamy. They claim that "the prophet" Joseph Smith claimed that this was a given direction from "God". We see in the Old Testament that many influential members of Scripture were involved with a polygamist lifestyle as well. So dos this prove that God is ok with polygamy? Romans 3:23 says "we all sin and fall short of the glory of God", this is very well known no matter how long one has been a christian. There is something else that can come from the realization of the fact that all have sinned. Adam and Eve experienced it in the garden, shame. Once sin has happened, there are a lot of people who experience shame and guilt. The questions that are often asked are, "How can I move on past sin?" "Should I feel guilt and shame?" " How can I be forgiven?". These questions are at the forefront of many people's thoughts. So what do we do with all of this? "I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried.
